Advertising Work
I follow these steps and ask myself these questions when I design an ad.
Understand the objective
Who is the target audience? What do we want them to do? How does doing it benefit them?
Determine the visual hierarchy
What’s the most important message? What’s the order of priority of the required elements?
Tell the story
How can I use color, images, typography, and graphics to draw emphasis, evoke an emotion, and lead the eye from the most important message to the call-to-action as elegantly as possible?
Always work in context
Where will the ad be displayed? How can I make it work with its surrounding layout but make it stand out?
Make the client happy
Does the work help the client meet their goals? How can we use data to measure our success?
